Pope Langdale was selected as Georgia Super Lawyer 2014 in the practice area of General Litigation. Pope has consistently made the exclusive list of outstanding attorneys in the state.
Super Lawyers are nominated by their peers, researched by an attorney-led third-party team, and evaluated and grouped into categories based on practice areas. Attorneys who receive the highest totals from each category are selected as a Super Lawyer or as a Rising Star.

Fellow Georgia attorneys recently selected Langdale Vallotton, LLP attorneys Bill Nijem & Jimmy Miller to be included in Georgia Trend’s 2013 Legal Elite. Georgia Trend has published the Legal Elite annually for the past eleven years. Voting is done by active members of the State Bar of Georgia, whose practice areas correspond to ten areas featured by Georgia Trend. Bill Nijem received the honor in the area of Taxes, Estates, & Trusts, and Jimmy Miller received the honor in the area of Labor & Employment. Last July, a jury awarded our clients $758,441.72 in the wrongful death of Dominic Barros involving a boating incident in November 2003. Langdale Vallotton attorneys Pope Langdale and Jimmy Miller were featured in The Verdict Magazine – The Journal of The Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.

Partner Rob Plumb helps local business
Partner Rob Plumb, attorney for Cary Scarborough, helps Deep South Sanitation stay in business.
Lowndes County Superior Court Judge Harry J. Altman issued a ruling Monday in the civil action filed by Lowndes County against Deep South Sanitation, LLC denying the County’s request for an injunction which would have put Deep South out of business. Judge Altman ruled that the County cannot “construct a monopoly while simultaneously putting pre-existing companies out of business”and directed the County to issue a license to Deep South to continue serving residential and commercial customers in the unincorporated areas of Lowndes County.

Langdale Vallotton, LLP proudly welcomes Amy L. Purvis as an associate attorney. Prior to joining Langdale Vallotton, LLP, Amy practiced in the areas of business and commercial litigation in Albany, Georgia for two years before relocating to Valdosta. Amy received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Valdosta State University and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia. During law school, she was a Notes Editor for the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law and was a Dean’s Ambassador. While in Albany, Amy served as President of the Young Lawyers Division of the Dougherty Circuit Bar Association, and she is currently a Middle District Representative for the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia. Amy is a member of the Valdosta Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia. She is admitted to practice in the Georgia Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Georgia. Amy represents clients, primarily financial institutions and other creditors, in complex business transactions, collection matters, and in bankruptcy court if necessary. Amy also practices in the area of civil litigation, representing individuals and businesses in litigation.
